How do I install the app?
Smart Home 3D for iPhone and iPad is on the App Store: open the app page.
The beta is available through TestFlight: open the invitation, install Apple’s TestFlight app and follow the instructions. A separate Mac version is being prepared for the Mac App Store.
Do I need a subscription?
The download is free. Full access requires a monthly or yearly subscription, and new subscribers get the first 7 days free. The price for your region appears in the App Store before you confirm. You can cancel it in your Apple settings.
If you bought the paid 1.0 release, you keep full access without a subscription.
Do I need LiDAR?
Scanning a room with RoomPlan requires a compatible LiDAR-equipped iPhone or iPad. LiDAR is not required to control already connected lights. You can open an existing home from a file or receive it from another device.
Where do I edit walls and add lights on Mac?
Open the home window, choose an individual floor from the top menu and switch to the 2D plan. Select the Wall, Light or Stairs tool. Settings for the selected object appear in the inspector on the right.
If the scan does not have an editable plan yet, choosing a wall or opening tool offers to prepare one.
A separate Mac version is in preparation. On iPhone and iPad, edit walls and openings in the house editor: tap Edit on the Home tab.
How do I mark a light with the camera?
On iPhone or iPad, choose a floor and open Mark fixtures with camera from the home screen. Mark the fixture in the room, finish placement and link the object to an available accessory.
For an LED strip, mark both its start and end. These points define its position, direction and length.
How do I delete a light?
Select a fixture in the model and open its settings. On Mac, Delete light fixture appears at the top of the inspector. On iPhone and iPad, use the delete action in the selected object’s editor, then confirm.
This removes its placement in the model. The physical accessory remains in your smart home system.
The camera or room rescan shows a black screen
Check camera permission in system settings and update the app to the latest version. Scanning requires a compatible LiDAR-equipped device.
If the screen stays black, return from the scanner and tell support which action caused it, your device model and app version. Do not delete the app or your saved home to retry.
Why won’t SprutHub or Home Assistant connect?
Check the server address and Local Network permission. If a VPN changes the route to your home network, try the connection without it. SprutHub needs your hub account credentials; Home Assistant needs a token with access to the relevant devices.
Remote access requires a reachable address from your chosen provider. Do not send passwords or access tokens to support.
Why are Apple Home devices missing?
Allow the app to access your home data and check that your accessories appear in Apple’s Home app. Check the home selected in Smart Home 3D settings. Apple Home is available as a source on iPhone and iPad.
How do I transfer and back up my home?
Export the home as a file or send it directly between devices. For direct transfer, enable Receive homes on the receiving device and confirm the transfer. Use a network you trust.
For a backup, enable iCloud Drive and the in-app iCloud copy setting. This backup is separate from files you export yourself. See the privacy policy for details.
Include the issue, device model and app version. Do not send hub passwords, access tokens or personal information.
